The Peace of Christ
Be With You This Day!
" 'In addition to what you vow and your freewill offerings, prepare these for the LORD at your appointed feasts: your burnt offerings, grain offerings, drink offerings and fellowship offerings. [ 29:39 Traditionally [ peace offerings ] ] ' "
Sacrifice fellowship offerings [ 27:7 Traditionally [ peace offerings ] ] there, eating them and rejoicing in the presence of the LORD your God.
He had been quarreling with the people of Tyre and Sidon; they now joined together and sought an audience with him. Having secured the support of Blastus, a trusted personal servant of the king, they asked for peace, because they depended on the king's country for their food supply.
After spending some time there, they were sent off by the brothers with the blessing of peace to return to those who had sent them.[ 15:33 Some manuscripts them, 34 but Silas decided to remain there]

Now Adoni-Zedek king of Jerusalem heard that Joshua had taken Ai and totally destroyed [ 10:1 The Hebrew term refers to the irrevocable giving over of things or persons to the LORD , often by totally destroying them; also in verses 28, 35, 37, 39 and 40. ] it, doing to Ai and its king as he had done to Jericho and its king, and that the people of Gibeon had made a treaty of peace with Israel and were living near them.
"Come up and help me attack Gibeon," he said, "because it has made peace with Joshua and the Israelites."
Except for the Hivites living in Gibeon, not one city made a treaty of peace with the Israelites, who took them all in battle.
If we have built our own altar to turn away from the LORD and to offer burnt offerings and grain offerings, or to sacrifice fellowship offerings [ 22:23 Traditionally [ peace offerings ] ; also in verse 27 ] on it, may the LORD himself call us to account.
"So may all your enemies perish, O LORD ! But may they who love you be like the sun when it rises in its strength." Then the land had peace forty years.
So Gideon built an altar to the LORD there and called it The LORD is Peace. To this day it stands in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.
Thus Midian was subdued before the Israelites and did not raise its head again. During Gideon's lifetime, the land enjoyed peace forty years.
The king of the Ammonites answered Jephthah's messengers, "When Israel came up out of Egypt, they took away my land from the Arnon to the Jabbok, all the way to the Jordan. Now give it back peaceably."
Then they took what Micah had made, and his priest, and went on to Laish, against a peaceful and unsuspecting people. They attacked them with the sword and burned down their city.
Then the Israelites, all the people, went up to Bethel, and there they sat weeping before the LORD . They fasted that day until evening and presented burnt offerings and fellowship offerings [ 20:26 Traditionally [ peace offerings ] ] to the LORD .
Early the next day the people built an altar and presented burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. [ 21:4 Traditionally [ peace offerings ] ]
The towns from Ekron to Gath that the Philistines had captured from Israel were restored to her, and Israel delivered the neighboring territory from the power of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites.

Samuel did what the LORD said. When he arrived at Bethlehem, the elders of the town trembled when they met him. They asked, "Do you come in peace?"
Samuel replied, "Yes, in peace; I have come to sacrifice to the LORD . Consecrate yourselves and come to the sacrifice with me." Then he consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice.
Jonathan said to David, "Go in peace, for we have sworn friendship with each other in the name of the LORD , saying, 'The LORD is witness between you and me, and between your descendants and my descendants forever.' " Then David left, and Jonathan went back to the town.
Then David accepted from her hand what she had brought him and said, "Go home in peace. I have heard your words and granted your request."
Then Abner said to David, "Let me go at once and assemble all Israel for my lord the king, so that they may make a compact with you, and that you may rule over all that your heart desires." So David sent Abner away, and he went in peace.
Just then David's men and Joab returned from a raid and brought with them a great deal of plunder. But Abner was no longer with David in Hebron, because David had sent him away, and he had gone in peace.
When Joab and all the soldiers with him arrived, he was told that Abner son of Ner had come to the king and that the king had sent him away and that he had gone in peace.
They brought the ark of the LORD and set it in its place inside the tent that David had pitched for it, and David sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings [ 6:17 Traditionally [ peace offerings ] ; also in verse 18 ] before the LORD .
When all the kings who were vassals of Hadadezer saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they made peace with the Israelites and became subject to them. So the Arameans were afraid to help the Ammonites anymore.
The king also said to Zadok the priest, "Aren't you a seer? Go back to the city in peace, with your son Ahimaaz and Jonathan son of Abiathar. You and Abiathar take your two sons with you.
We are the peaceful and faithful in Israel. You are trying to destroy a city that is a mother in Israel. Why do you want to swallow up the LORD's inheritance?"
David built an altar to the LORD there and sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. [ 24:25 Traditionally [ peace offerings ] ] Then the LORD answered prayer in behalf of the land, and the plague on Israel was stopped.
"Now you yourself know what Joab son of Zeruiah did to me-what he did to the two commanders of Israel's armies, Abner son of Ner and Amasa son of Jether. He killed them, shedding their blood in peacetime as if in battle, and with that blood stained the belt around his waist and the sandals on his feet.
Deal with him according to your wisdom, but do not let his gray head go down to the grave [ 2:6 Hebrew [ Sheol ] ; also in verse ] in peace.

Solomon consecrated the middle part of the courtyard in front of the temple of the LORD , and there he offered burnt offerings and the fat of the fellowship offerings, [ 7:7 Traditionally [ peace offerings ] ] because the bronze altar he had made could not hold the burnt offerings, the grain offerings and the fat portions.
And Abijah rested with his fathers and was buried in the City of David. Asa his son succeeded him as king, and in his days the country was at peace for ten years.
He removed the high places and incense altars in every town in Judah, and the kingdom was at peace under him.
He built up the fortified cities of Judah, since the land was at peace. No one was at war with him during those years, for the LORD gave him rest.
Then Micaiah answered, "I saw all Israel scattered on the hills like sheep without a shepherd, and the LORD said, 'These people have no master. Let each one go home in peace.' "
Hezekiah spoke encouragingly to all the Levites, who showed good understanding of the service of the LORD . For the seven days they ate their assigned portion and offered fellowship offerings [ 30:22 Traditionally [ peace offerings ] ] and praised the LORD , the God of their fathers.
Hezekiah assigned the priests and Levites to divisions-each of them according to their duties as priests or Levites-to offer burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, [ 31:2 Traditionally [ peace offerings ] ] to minister, to give thanks and to sing praises at the gates of the LORD's dwelling.
Then he restored the altar of the LORD and sacrificed fellowship offerings [ 33:16 Traditionally [ peace offerings ] ] and thank offerings on it, and told Judah to serve the LORD , the God of Israel.
Now I will gather you to your fathers, and you will be buried in peace. Your eyes will not see all the disaster I am going to bring on this place and on those who live here.' " So they took her answer back to the king.
For you will have a covenant with the stones of the field, and the wild animals will be at peace with you.
They spend their years in prosperity and go down to the grave [ 21:13 Hebrew [ Sheol ] ] in peace. [ 21:13 Or [ in an instant ] ]
They do not speak peaceably, but devise false accusations against those who live quietly in the land.
Consider the blameless, observe the upright; there is a future [ 37:37 Or [ there will be posterity ] ] for the man of peace.
I will listen to what God the LORD will say; he promises peace to his people, his saints- but let them not return to folly.
"I have fellowship offerings [ 7:14 Traditionally [ peace offerings ] ] at home; today I fulfilled my vows.
A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.
Better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting, [ 17:1 Hebrew [ sacrifices ] ] with strife.
a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
Look upon Zion, the city of our festivals; your eyes
will see Jerusalem, a peaceful abode, a tent
that will not be moved; its stakes will never be
pulled up, nor any of its ropes broken.
"The word of the LORD you have spoken is good," Hezekiah replied. For he thought, "There will be peace and security in my lifetime."
My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.
Or else let them come to me for refuge; let them make peace with me, yes, let them make peace with me."
The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever.
