WELL LORE'S USEFUL
& NATURAL PAIN RELIEF

by Mrs. Lori Anderson Bunge, BA
Heath Journalist

Let's look at...............

         NATURAL PAIN RELIEF

THE FOLLOWING FOOD SUPPLEMENTS MAY BE
HELPFUL TO EASE PAINFUL DISCOMFORTS NATURALLY:

NOTE:  IF YOU HAVE A MEDICAL CONDITION,
USE ONLY WITH YOUR  MEDICAL DOCTOR'S REGULAR
SUPERVISION AND CONSULTATION

DO NOT OVERUSE REMEMBER THE
WISDOM OF ST PATRICK; USE
"JUST  A PINCH"
OF STRONG OR BITTER HERBS AND SPICES  IN
COOKING.  USE
"JUST  A PINCH" MORE OF WEAK AND
LESS PUNGENT ONES!

IF HERBS ARE GATHERED LATE IN THE SEASON OR IN
IN FALL, OR IF THEY ARE READY TO "BOLT" AND GO TO
SEED, THEY WILL BE STRONGER;  IF THEY DON'T TASTE
GOOD OR ARE TOO STRONG, USE IN SIMMERING POTPOURRI
OR SACHETS INSTEAD OF FOR CULINARY USE.

TEST FOR ALLERGIES BEFORE CONSUMING HERBS OR
USING TOPICALLY!

FOLLOW DIRECTIONS:  FOLLOW GOOD RECIPE AND
EXPERT AND/OR MANUFACTURER'S DOSAGE AND USAGE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY.

REMEMBER TO TAKE ONLY THE  PRESCRIBED PAIN RELIEVER  THAT YOUR DOCTOR RECOMMENDS.  ASK YOUR DOCTOR FOR GUIDANCE AND SUPERVISION FOR THE USE OF ANY PRESCRIBED PAIN RELIEVER.  NEVER STOP USING YOUR PRESCRIBED MEDICATION WITHOUT GUIDANCE FROM YOUR DOCTOR.  ASK YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT HERB, SPICE, AND DRUG INTERACTIONS,  INDICATIONS, CONTRAINDICATIONS, AND PRECAUTIONS.

WELL LORE WILL BE ADDING ADDITIONAL  SAFETY INFORMATION AND PRECAUTIONS AS INFORMATION  BECOMES AVAILABLE AND "THYME" PERMITS!

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER:  A LIST OF HERBS, VITAMINS, MINERALS, OR SUPPLEMENTS DOES NOT
REPLACE SOUND HEALTH CARE!

ALWAYS SEEK CONSULTATION FROM A QUALIFIED EXPERT IN NATURAL HEALTH WHEN USING NATURAL REMEDIES;  DON'T TRY TO REMEDY YOURSELF NATURALLY (unless, or course, you are an expert! Yet even then, it is still wise to talk to your MD when necessary.)

THE HERXHEIMER EFFECT:
YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT IT

IMPORTANTBEFORE TAKING ANY ANTIBIOTIC OR PAIN-
RELIEVING HERB, UNDERSTAND THAT MANY
HERBS HAVE ANTIBIOTIC PROPERTIES.  WHILE MOST
HERBAL USES PRESENT SIDE BENEFITS INSTEAD OF
NEGATIVE SIDE EFFECTS, THERE STILL CAN OCCUR
NEGATIVE SIDE EFFECTS AND DRUG INTERACTIONS.

ONE UNCOMFORTABLE SIDE EFFECT WHEN USING
HERBAL ANTIBIOTICS (OR ANY OTHER KIND OF
ANTIBIOTIC, INCLUDING PRESCRIPTION ANTIBIOTICS,
IS THE
"HERXHEIMER EFFECT."

Why should people maybe take antibiotics for pain relief?
INFECTION CAUSES PAIN, THAT'S WHY!

SO THE ANTIBIOTIC "SNUFFED" THE "BAD GUYS,"
NOW WHAT? WELL, WHEN THE BAD BUGS (BACTERIA,
YEASTS, ETC.) DIE, THEY LEAVE THEIR CORPSES! AND UNFORTUNATELY, THEY LEAVE THEM IN YOUR BODY!

Explain the Jarisch Herxheimer reaction.

"This short term flare reaction to the antibiotics, named after
a German dermatologist, is characterized by increased pain
and inflammation in joints and supporting tissues, and
sometimes by fever, headache, and chills caused by the
antigens of dying microorganisms being released."

from http://www.roadback.org

What on God's Green earth is the "Herxheimer Effect?"
To put it simply, it is an uncomfortable side effect (with an
under-lying side benefit) to taking antibiotics (like garlic) for
infections like candida abilicans (intestinal "yeast" infection),
strep, staph, or for any other infection.

The chronology usually occurs like this:  you get an infection;
you take an antibiotic;  the antibiotic kills the "bad bugs" but
can also kill the "good bugs" in your body too (for example,
"friendly flora" in your bowels that are "good bacteria" that
help you digest your food. )  When this occurs, you
are getting better (since the antibiotic is also killing the harmful
pathogen) but you may suffer from uncomfortable "Herx"
symptoms as the antibiotickills the bad pathogens.  The longer
you use antibiotics, or the higher the antibiotic dosage, the more
likely you are to suffer the "Herx."

So why do some women (and men) get secondary yeast
infections WHILE taking antibiotics?  Due to the fact that the pathogen-specific antibiotic may kill off some of the good  bacteria
that "feeds" on yeast.  Since the yeast has no predator, it justs
grows and grows.

The over-growth of yeast and secondary yeast infection
may not happen when using garlic as a natural antibiotic,
since garlic can kill both bacteria and yeasts (as does
grapefruit seed extract, it is a "wide spectrum" antibiotic,
meaning it kills lots of nasty pathogens.) YET YOU ARE
STILL LIKELY TO GET THE "HERX" EFFECT, EVEN
THOUGH YOU AVOID THE SECONDARY YEAST
INFECTION, SINCE THESE TWO VERY WIDE-SPECTRUM
NATURAL ANTIBIOTICS KILL MANY DIFFERENT TYPES
OF PATHOGENS, all of which leave their rotten and decaying
corpses in your system (that is where the "toxins" come from.)

So garlic can also kill off some good digestive bacteria too, so
do me a favor when you take  natural antibiotics like GSE or
garlic;  keep some Yoplait yogurt, acidophilus milk, and
acidophilus supplements on hand, just in case.  You  take
ACTIVE CULTURES yogurt, acidophiolus softgels, capsules, or
chewables to replenish digestive cultures back into your
bowels, and thus become a REGULAR kind of guy (or gal!)

Drink plenty of pure water to also flush the toxins from your
body (that result as the antibiotic kills the bad (and good)
bacteria and their microscopic "corpses" die-off in your body
and release toxins that can create an autoimmune response
in your joints, muscles, and bowels!  So slay those pathogenic
terrorists, then load their worthless bodies on a barge and send
"em down the river and out of your country  by drinking lots of
fresh water.  Soon, those alien invaders will be permanently
deported!

 "Friendly Flora" Is After Those
Strange Bugs Again!

As the antibiotic also unfortunately kills some good bacteria
in your bowels, you may experience bloating, gas, flatulence,
diarrhea, nausea, and other nasty gastric symptoms as the
bowels struggle to digest the food you eat without their "friendly
flora," or "good" digestive bacteria. Remember, you need the
"good guys" to eat. SO WHAT IS THE SOLUTION?

Replenish the "friendly flora" in your digestive system with
dairy products, including milk, yogurt, cheese, etc. that contain
ACTIVE CULTURES of "friendly flora."  This will help your
digestive system return to normal.

Can you be helped by MAGNESIUM SUPPLEMENTATION for Pain Relief?

If your MD believes you are eliminating effectively, then
supplemental magnesium may be helpful, in many ways, for  you  (also great for allergy/asthma relief, good breathing, women's health concerns, calmness and nerve health, heart health, etc. etc.)

Magnesium is involved in over 300 metabolic and enzymaticprocesses in the human body, in hormonal balance and regulation, in temperature control and regulation, in digestive and organ health, in blood-sugar regulation, in arterial and vein health and circulation, in brain and spinal function, in bone matrix and strength, and most significantly, in heart, kidney, and liver health.  It also makes bones strong and helps to relax muscle tissue (important in the protection against painful muscle spasms, contraction, and the resulting painful misalignment of the musclo-skeletal system which this can cause.)

(IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have a pre-exisiting kidney dysfunction (failure to eliminate adequately) or liver disease, dysfunction, it is
VITAL that you talk to your regular, licensed MD doctor BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER ever supplementing with magnesium or any supplement; magnesium is excreted in the kidneys; any dysfunction  of the eliminating process of the kidneys could result in a TOO HIGH,  and therefore "toxic" level of ANY supplement, including magnesium. MAKE SURE YOUR KIDNEYS ANDLIVER FUNCTION IS GOOD BEFORE TAKING ANY SUPPLEMENT, ANDDRINK ADEQUATE AMOUNTS OF FLUIDS DURING SUPPLEMENTATION- talk to each of your MD's regarding magnesium!

Safe and careful supplementation with a bioavailable form or
magnesium is just great for allergy relief, asthma, smooth breathing,
muscle pain relief, heart and circulation protection, muscle tetany,
spasm, pain, midlife health support for both men and women, peri-menopausal, menopausal, and post-menopausal symptom reduction, PMS symptom reduction, as a mineral counter to "estrogen dominance" (estrogen, at too high of levels, can reduce magnesium, causing serious health problems), kidney and liver health, pancreas health and (along with chromium  picolinate) diabetes-threat reduction and efficient blood-sugar
regulation.

CALCIUM OXALATE KIDNEY STONES:
                          OH, THE PAIN!

Many health experts believe magnesium supplementation can
help protect against calcium oxalate kidney stones (the jury is
still out on Vitamin C and kidney stones; some experts believe
too much vitamin C, taken at very high levels, can contribute to
kidney stones, whereas magnesium contributes to the proper PH
in the kidneys and "opposes" calcium build-up; my opinion is
Vitamin C (preferably in the form of lemonade) is probably helpful,
as long as one does not take excessive and mega-doses,and may
help boost your immunity, protect against inflammation, and keep
the kidneys just acidic enough to help protect against secondary
infection.

Mega-doses of VItamin C are probably unwise for kidney
stones.Your regular MD can answer your questions about Vitamin C
supplementation and kidney stones, and the proper PH, acid/alkaline
balance within the kidneys and urinary system, to promote optimum
health.

AVOID OXALATE-CONTAINING FOODS WHEN SUFFERING
FROM KIDNEY STONES.

16. KIDNEY STONES

http://www.mgwater.com/rod16.shtml

Magnesium deficiency
Magnesium is a inhibitor of the formation of calcium oxalate
crystals in the urine. In a study by Johansson and Backman U in
the Journal of the American College of Nutrition a trial was done to
determine the effect a magnesium therapy on preventing calium
containing kidney stones. 55 patients with recurrent renal calcium
stone disease without signs of magnesium deficiency (normal serum
magnesium and urinary magnesium) from their "outpatient stone
clinic" were treated for up to four years with 500 mg Mg2+, in the
form of Mg(OH)2, daily. "The mean stone episode rate before
therapy was 0.8 stones/year/patient. Forty-three recurrent renal
calcium stone-formers without medical therapy served as controls.
The urinary calcium excretion remained unchanged. The
magnesium/calcium ratio in the urine increased and approached
a value earlier found in healthy subjects without stone disease.
Urinary citrate increased on therapy when analysed after three
years of treatment. The mean stone episode rate decreased from
0.8 to 0.08 stones/year on treatment and 85% of the patients
remained free of recurrence during follow-up, whereas 59% of
the patients in the control group continued their stone formation.
Side effects were few." They concluded that "magnesium
treatment in renal calcium stone disease is effective with few
side effects. No clinical signs of magnesium excess were observed."

Kidney Stones Causes
http://www.emedicinehealth.com/kidney_stones/page2_em.htm

ACCORDING TO THIS ARTICLE, THE MOST COMMON
KIND OF KIDNEY STONE IS MADE UP OF CALCIUM

(whereas magnesium supplementation may help)
http://kidney.niddk.nih.gov/kudiseases/pubs/pdf/stones_ez.pdf

NOTE:  PEOPLE WITH KIDNEY STONES SHOULD ALWAYS
TAKE MAGNESIUM ORALLY, AND IN THE AMOUNT AND
FORM THEIR   MD RECOMMENTDS - IT SHOULD MOVE
THROUGH THE RENAL (kidney) system, if the kidneys are functioning properly.

   TRANSDERMAL MAGNESIUM OIL FOR
              ABSORPTION PROBLEMS

"Magnesium oil" home remedy that can be used transdermally
for persons who have difficulty absorbing magnesium through the
intestines. Using the transdermal oil (or an "Epsom Salt" type
cream) usually allows people to lower their dose of oral magnesium
(that can cause loose stools at higher dosages, and therefore
presents an absorption problem.) I am still "tweeking" and
"refining" it, but I have used it safely for many months and
find it very helpful for controlling mid-life symptoms (arthritis,
joint and muscle pains, moodiness, etc.)

Ancient Greek doctors made magnesium oil with olive oil for treating "wasting" disease (mineral depletion) and was particularly helpful for athletes, soldiers, pregnant women (for pregnancy seizures and magnesium deficiency in pregnancy /preclampsia/ enclampsia) the middle aged (hormonal changes that effect mineral levels, particularly estrogen versus magnesium) for heart  patients, and the elderly. I encourage you to read about "magnesium and kidney  stones" on the web, you may find it surprisingly helpful.

Magnesium should be taken in a Calcium/Magnesium1:1 ratio
(magnesium deficiency) or a Calcium/Magnesium 2:1 ratio
(magnesium sufficiency) when supplementing with magnesium;
it is well known the two minerals work together. To take one
without the other can result in muscle cramping, so they should
always be taken together (although I have read that if someone
is severely magnesium deficient, they should take magnesium
alone just until their MG level increases, then use the  Calcium/Magnesium1:1 ratio (magnesium deficiency) or a Calcium/Magnesium 2:1 ratio  (magnesium sufficiency). Calcium is gradually increased as magnesium levels improve.

Although magnesium usually greatly relieves muscle cramping, Calcium
should be taken if muscle cramping occurs during magnesium supplementation. Since low potassium can also cause muscle cramping, cramping may be due to low potassium if a headache is present with the muscle cramping. Americans tend to consume large amounts of dairy products (calcium) and large amounts of sugar and salt (sodium), so usually the culprit of muscle cramps
is low magnesium or low potassium (especially present with, again, a  headache and elevated blood pressure, since potassium in the "sodium/potassium pump"  lowers blood-pressure, whereas sodium tends to elevate it.

THE PAIN OF THE "CHANGE OF LIFE"

ARE YOU MIDDLE-AGED?  IF YOU ARE BETWEEN THE
AGES OF 35 AND 50, PERI-MENOPAUSE MAY "SNEAK UP"
ON YOU LIKE A TON 'O BRICKS!

If you are  middle-aged, magnesium (transdermal and oral),
natural progesterone cream, and bromelain (pineapple) with
papaya is great for mid-life arthritis, joint and muscle pain
and cramps. Glucosamine sulfate is also helpful, and soothing
on the joints topically.

I have "tested" some of these health theories, and so far,
find many of them sound and providing good relief.

May our Lord bless you with good health and energy.
Your Sister in Christ,
Mrs. Lori I. Bunge

NATURAL ANALGESICS
by Lori I. Bunge, B.A.

I suffer with chronic pain, and have done so for many
years now. I have arthritis and have occasionally
battled tendonitis. Here are some home remedies
that have worked for me:

INFLAMMATION, PAIN, STIFFNESS, NERVE PAIN:
My recommendations for natural pain relief for
arthritis, joint/muscle/connective tissue inflammation,
tendonitis/tenosynovitis, etc.

CAPZASIN-P Capsaicin .035% or
CAPZASIN-HP Capsaicin 0.10% High Potency Formula

VERY EFFECTIVE PAIN RELIEVER

Follow all drug inserts/directions carefully and COMPLETELY;
(especially important for the effective use of this particular
remedy.) This is an over-the-counter medication.
VERY EFFECTIVE PAIN RELIEVER; somewhat better for
nerve damage/nerve pain relief, although has anti-inflammatory
properties. Just apply enough at painful "trigger point,"
do not apply to skin as you would apply suntan lotion!
This could result in intense burning and is usually
unnecessary for effective pain relief; if you need to apply
it to a painful muscle mass, limit it to the sore spot
(painful trigger point) on the muscle, rather than
the whole muscle.

Applying
CAPZASIN-P Capsaicin .035% or
CAPZASIN-HP Capsaicin 0.10% High Potency Formula

or another Capsaicin Cream Brand
along nerve routes(and roots!) and at multiple "trigger points"
along a nerve pathway provides more effective relief. Rub the
cream in thoroughly, in order to "carry" the cream through the
epidermis to the nerve pathway; apply at least 3-4 times per
day, and CONSISTENTLY. One must weigh the discomfort of
transient burning sensation with level of discomfort from
painful condition; burning sensation is transient and is gone
within days, whereas chronic pain conditions can last for
months or years; consider the seriousness of the painful
condition when considering the use of cayenne cream
(capsicum/capsaicin) "red pepper, " when seeking relief.

WASH HANDS THOROUGHLY AFTER USE AND KEEP
CREAM AWAY FROM SENSITIVE AREAS OF THE BODY,
EYES,AND MUCOUS MEMBRANES.
If you accidently ingest
the cream, seek help from a poison control center immediately.
(Due to strength, can cause gastric upset, burning, etc.although
safe to use topically on the skin if one does not have an allergy
to red peppers, or other serious skin disorder. READ
DIRECTIONS THOROUGHLY)

CAYENNE PEPPER is available as a safe oral supplement
through various suppliers. Email me for referrals.

ORAL AND TOPICAL CAYENNE IS A POTENTIATOR
HERB (that means it makes other medications more effective;
this is beneficial for those who have absorption problems.

CAYENNE is a thermogenic herb; that means it has the
ability to heat/warm joints; this aids in healing.

CAYENNE has many SIDE BENEFITS; it is good for
the heart and circulation.

GLUCOSAMINE SULFATE - TOPICAL and ORAL

VERY EFFECTIVE PAIN RELIEVER
For cartilage healing; also good to speed the healing
and rebuild damaged tendons and connective tissue
(i.e. tendonitis) cartilage, joints, synovium, etc.

MAGNESIUM SULFATE OR OXIDE - TRANSDERMAL

VERY EFFECTIVE PAIN RELIEVER
(Topical Skin Application) In the form of Magnesium Oil
(There is a brand called "Magic Oil" on the web;
I haven't tried it, but I agree with many of the theories of
major proponents) I COMPOUND (as a Christian Herbalist/
Minerologist) MY OWN MAGNESIUM OIL and am in the
process of obtaining a patent for it. I USE IT ALL THE TIME
and so have members of my family; it is more effective, via
transdermal administration, in helping to reverse Magnesium
Deficiency (common, especially in mid-life and beyond, in perimenopausal/menopausal/and post menopausal women, and

in men prone to "mineral wasting," i.e. "sweaters."

MAGNESIUM DEFICIENCY HAS BEEN IMPLICATED IN
THE TENDENCY TOWARDS MANY SERIOUS HEALTH CONDITIONS, INCLUDING (but not limited to):

heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, epilepsy,  peri-menopausal
ailments, calcium deposits in joints and muscles, "calcium dominance"
or "calcium inefficiency," (since both calcium and potassium rely on
the proper level of magnesium for efficient uptake and utilization,)
calcium deposits in arteries and organs (egad...DANGEROUS) and
of course, calcium oxalate kidney stones. Even MD's (especially
the good ones" acknowledge proper levels of magnesium to be
protective and nutritious to good human health in many VITAL
ways. I say, especially if you are "getting older" (as hopefully we
all are,) "attend to your magnesium!

A tendency towards magnesium deficiency can be genetic,
as seen in Greek/Roman/British ancestry, or based on activity
and stress levels, as seen in athletes, soldiers, high-stress
occupations, coffee and tea drinkers, "imbibers," for even
small amounts of alcohol consumption depletes minerals, and
can cause SIGNIFICANT magnesium losses. Also, those who
include large amounts of salt, sugar, caffeine, and dairy products
(calcium) in their diets, and who do not consume large amounts of
magnesium- rich foods (green, leafy vegetables, cashews,
sunflower-seeds, almonds, and other nuts, avocados, chocolate
{cocoa}, etc.} are susceptible to magnesium deficiency.

Reversing a true magnesium deficiency
orally can take months and
months.

For some individuals, magnesium may be better absorbed trans-
dermally (through the skin with topical skin application.). Magnesium
deficiency treatment via injection or intravenous  can only occur in the
office of a licensed medical doctor, due to potential toxicity and the
necessity of kidney monitoring;  (although for dangerous magnesium
deficiencies, this can be a very efficient and effective treatment.)
TRANSDERMAL APPLICATION OF MAGNESIUM
MAY REVERSE TRUE MAGNESIUM DEFICIENCIES
IN A MUCH MORE RAPID WAY.

In addition, other vitamin and mineral deficiencies (especially
B6, B-Complex, Vitamin E, or manganese deficiencies) can
create a "secondary" and related magnesium deficiency.
Furthermore, since calcium and potassium rely on the proper
level of intra-cellular, blood, and spinal-fluid levels of magnesium
for their uptake, a malingering and non-addressed magnesium
deficiency can cause secondary calcium and/or potassium
deficiencies.

NOTE: USE EXTREME CAUTION WITH POTASSIUM!
Always use extreme caution when supplementing potassium,
and it is always wise to get guidance from your medical doctor
when in doubt as to how to do mineral supplementation safely,
especially for potassium. Whereas magnesium is constantly
excreted in the urine and feces, potassium and calcium
remained more "stored" and especially with potassium, it is
better to "err on the side of caution"and use less instead of more.
YET REMEMBER, TOO LITTLE POTASSIUM IS JUST AS DANGEROUS AS TOO MUCH;  therefore, it is  wise
to have some available if you nee it;  FOLLOW DIRECTIONS
CAREFULLY, AND USE BANANAS INSTEAD OF
SUPPLEMENTS WHEN BANANAS ARE AVAILABLE.

ANTI-INFLAMMATION HERBS
GINGER: Analgesic, anti-inflammatory, very helpful for colds
(some say anti-viral to the cold virus and toxic to it) very
helpful for nasal congestion and allergy/asthma, assists
in reducing inflammation and assisting breathing, warms the
lungs and nasal passages.

EVENING PRIMROSE OIL: I have used this as an anti-
inflammatory on my joints for arthritis; do not regularly use
phyto-estrogens like evening primrose oil if you have estrogen
dominance. Phyto-estrogens are good anti-inflammatories if not
used in excess and not with severe estrogen dominance or breast
cancer, etc.
PHYTO-STEROL

FLAX SEED OIL: Good for arthritis, tendonitis, inflammation,
(I have used a small amount on a Q-tip in the nasal passages
for rebound congestion from nasal sprays, allergy inflammation
of the nasal passages; also good to relieve intestinal inflammation
and  joint inflammation.
ALLERGY INFLAMMATION RELIEF; PHYTO-STEROL

SOY MILK: Good for arthritis. Provides phyto-estrogens to combat inflammation

NATURAL PROGESTERONE CREAM:  Combats "estrogen dominance and related muscle cramping/spasms, hot flashes, and
other related peri-menopausal and post-menopausal symptoms.

USE NATURAL PROGESTERONE CREAM ON WRIST TO
RELIEVE WRIST PAIN IF ESTROGEN IS HIGH AND/OR WHEN MAGNESIUM IS LOW;
estrogen dominance can lower magnesium;  natural progesterone cream can compete with estrogen so that magnesium is raised.  APPLY TO WRISTS FOR WRIST PAIN RELIEF.  Also good for strengthening bone when the danger of osteoporosis becomes an issue in pre-menopause (peri-menopause) and post-menopause.

SAW PALMETTO, ETC.
PROSTATE PROTECTION/ANTI-INFLAMMATORIES:
Saw Palmetto, Pumpkin Seeds and Pumpkin-Seed Oil,
Flax Seed Oil, Beta-sitosterol Supplement

MINERALS AND PAIN MANAGEMENT
The proper levels of minerals are vitally important in pain management.

This is because your bones, muscles, and connective tissue are
comprised of minerals, and rely on minerals (such as calcium and magnesium) for the strength, proper alignment, and relaxation/
contraction of such bodily components as muscles. For example,
eating too many dairy products, and too little magnesium-rich foods
(and if you combine this with low electrolytes, such as sodium and
potassium) is a  "recipe" for muscle cramping/spasms,

and a miserable day.

BROMELAIN/PINEAPPLE AND PAPAYA:

VERY EFFECTIVE PAIN RELIEVER

Used together, these "digestive enzymes help break down food, ease bowel and joint inflammation, and are very useful for gout and/or arthritis., or any type of inflammation.

HORMONES AND MINERALS:
Since hormones effect many bodily functions in addition to reproduction, hormone levels also effect the uptake of minerals. For example. as people age, their hormone levels decrease; this can have an effect on mineral levels (especially magnesium, what the Greeks viewed as the "foundational" mineral). Just as mortar and certain additives strengthen cement, magnesium helps form the matrix of bone; therefore, if pre-menopausal (perimenopausal) women are deficient in magnesium, their bones can become brittle and they can experience bone pain even though they may be taking in a lot of calcium. In fact, all that calcium can make a magnesium deficiency WORSE, since it may compete with magnesium through the ionic channel that "doorways" the cell.

MAGNESIUM (especially trandermal oil) is an especially-effective
muscle relaxant, good for cramps, spasms, and other
afflictions. It is a strong pain reliever. Taken orally or transdermally, magnesium supplementation (especially in levels under 500 mg per day for non-deficient persons, and 1,000 mg. per day for non-deficient persons) tends to be safer IF your kidneys, liver, and intestines function normally and you eliminate regularly. Too little potassium is dangerous, but so is too much. The use of the potassium gluconate or potassium citrate forms may be safer than potassium chloride.

DO YOU NEED POTASSIUM? "ORANGE" YOU GONNA GO BANANAS?

Of course, a banana a day is the best way to get the potassium
you need, since it has more potassium in it than a full day of
supplements, and in a  safe form. Make sure, though, that your
magnesium levels are brought up (if low) BEFORE trying to raise seriously-low calcium or potassium levels, since both calcium and
potassium depend on the proper levels of magnesium for efficient
uptake of calcium and potassium.  Orange juice is also an
EXCELLENT source of potassium.  CAUTION;  do not drink
orange juice in excess if you are low on magnesium;  ALWAYS
RAISE YOUR MAGNESIUM LEVEL FIRST, then enjoy your
glass of OJ!
REMEMBER, A ORANGE A DAY MAY KEEP THE DOCTOR AWAY, TOO! Yet, do communicate with 'DOC."
